Blog: Endangered Languages Media Watch

This blog (which seems to have shut down at the end of 2013) would have been an amazing asset! The creator of the blog followed the publicity of and attitudes of the press towards endangered languages. He provides very good sources in publications such as The Economist and my personal favorite, NewScientist. I think the publicity of endangered languages is really important, to make the public aware of the incredible language diversity around us and become aware at the startling rate of language extinction.

This is an uplifting blog, however, because most of its documentation is the efforts of researchers and diversity programs having a positive result from a project to preserve the language or languages. I really wish this blog was still posting! To read the archives click here.
