This TED talk by neuroscientist Allan Jones touches on the basic processes of brain imaging and what can be gained from today’s fMRI technology. While this TED talk does not touch on any specific part of my research, this video helped me grasp the technology and processes used in studies of neuroscience and brain processing, which is crucial to my research into whistled language. This is an excellent background research video, and quite fascinating if you’ve ever wondered how brain researchers gather evidence. Jones is quite knowledgeable and provides a clear narrative for the techniques used by today’s neuroscientists on the quest to understand the human brain. I will later use the information from this video to understand the articles I have acquired on processing of whistled languages. If you’ve got fifteen minutes, this is a fascinating look into the world of brain researchers and gene expression in the brain.
