This great little blog post nicely puts together the endangered languages of Europe, providing the uneducated reader with a summary of the language, where it is spoken, its roots, and an estimate of the remaining native speakers. The synopses also provide information for further research on the language, should you be so inclined.
This is a great resource if you’re looking to travel and learn a little about the cultural and linguistic heritage of the area you’re visiting that is normally passed over by the average tourist! I’ll be looking at this site later for a more in-depth look at the endangered languages of Europe and perhaps compiling a neater list for later research. Their links for more information are very worthwhile!
